CHIP INFO - The Gaza Imperial Airways airfield began passenger services as far back as 1927. Being used by the British in both the first and second world wars. The airway and fares advertisement both represent the interconnectedness Gaza once had with the world. A stark contrast to the connection Palestinians living in Gaza have been denied for decades. This wasn’t the only airfield that existed in Gaza. In 1998 Bill Clinton attended the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Yasser Arafat International Airport. The airport provided for by UN the Oslo II agreement. However only 3 years later Israel bombed and bulldozed the airport, destroying it. Israel has heavily restricted what can flow in and out of Gaza since the 90s, but in 2007 intensified its actions to a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip. An action, which is defined by international law as an act of war. Gaza displays all of Israel’s cruelest means of isolation, starvation, and extermination.
